City Commission Meets Tonight

The Huron City Commission will begin tonight’s meeting by meeting as the Board of Adjustment to consider three variance requests. Two are in regards to building projects one is related to the placement of a fence. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will hold the canvass of the results from the municipal election last week. The Commission will also a parade request and two requests from the Beadle County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League for use of the old trap range for events in June, August and September. The first reading of an ordinance amending a chapter related to solid waste and implementation of the city’s recycling will be held. Commissioners will also consider a recommendation to approve a new job description for part-time seasonal water-sewer maintenance assistant and to advertise for the position. The Commission will also consider the resignation of Joshua Haeder from the Planning Commission. There are no scheduled, executive or work sessions for the Huron City Commission, which will meet tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public
