The Huron City Commission will deal with a lighter than normal agenda for tonight’s City Commission meeting. The Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments for a variance request to build a home closer to property lines than allowed by code. When the Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider renewal of a joint funding agreement with the US Geological Survey for the operation and maintenance of the gauge station on the James River. Commissioners will also consider a resolution regarding a project to change the number of lanes on Highway 37 on the north side of Huron. Because of Veteran’s Day on Thursday, City offices in Huron will be closed and city will announce changes for the week’s garbage collection because of Veteran’s Day. The Huron City Commission will start their meeting at 5:30 PM tonight and the meeting is open to the public.
