The City of Huron’s new recycling program is moving forward. Commissioner Kerwin Haeder says the State of South Dakota has approved a 50-percent grant, to be used toward the purchase of equipment to get the initiative underway….
April 15th was set as the bid date for the collection containers, compactor truck and pick-up truck for the program. Haeder says they are nearing 50-percent of their goal for participation in the single stream recycling program….
An advertising and education campaign will begin in mid to late May. Presentations to service groups in the city are already taking place to raise awareness of the recycling program.
