The first reading of the sidewalk business ordinance is expected to be on the agenda for next week’s meeting. Meanwhile, Commissioners approved over 84-thousand dollars in bids for water, sewer, and irrigation materials and marking paint. Commissioners also approved Human Resource Director Pat Schmidt’s request to apply for grants….
Schmidt says most of the grants that are applied for are 100-percent grants meaning the cost to the City of Huron is zero. Commissioners also accepted the resignation of long time Deputy Finance Director Carol Tschetter….
Finance Commissioner Dale Schneider added Tschetter’s resignation will be effective April 19th. Commissioners approved the issuance of a Civil Service Call to fill Tschetter’s position. Also approved was the full time status of dispatcher Hannah Heyd and two volunteer fire fighters. After a short break the Huron City Commission met in executive session for a personnel matter then held a work session regarding policies for leasing city owned equipment and structures.
