Rose Pleads Not Guilty To Sex Crime Charges

A trial date is tentatively set for a Huron man facing numerous sex crime charges. Judge Jon Erickson scheduled a March sixth jury trial for 65-year-old John Rose. Rose was arrested on December 13th and indicted by a Beadle County Grand Jury a week later on 12 counts of possession of child pornography, and eight counts each of aggravated incest, first degree rape and sexual contact with a person under the age of 16. Rose pleaded not guilty to the charges at an arraignment hearing Tuesday. Rose is currently out of jail on bond. As a condition of the bond Rose agreed to forfeited his passport. A motions hearing is scheduled for February 26th at 11 AM. Aggravated incest and sexual contact with a person under the age of 16 are Class Three Felonys. Possession of Child Pornography is a Class Four Felony and First Degree Rape is a Class C Felony with a maximum sentence of life in prison and a 50-thousand dollar fine
