City Commission Meets Tonight

The Huron City Commission meets tonight for their regular weekly meeting. Tonight the Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments for a variance request regarding a fence building project. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider payment requests for two water towers under construction in Huron. The second and final reading of the 2013 city budget ordinance is scheduled for tonight. The Commission will consider authorizing Police Chief Gary Will to apply for a grant to host an ethics instructor certification course. Commissioners will also consider a compost program for water conservation for city residents. The Commission will consider five human resource items including hiring recommendations and status approvals. An update on the Huron Get Fit program is also on the agenda for tonight’s meeting. An executive session is scheduled for negotiations and litigation. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building.
