Man Killed At Wind Farm Construction Site

A man working on a wind farm project died Friday when he was caught between a semi and trailer unloading construction materials. South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Dale says 40-year-old Stephen McAdams died of abdominal injuries after being driven over by the semi-trailer. Wanzek Construction Spokeswoman Rebecca Young says McAdams died at a work site 11 miles northwest of White Lake. Tom Deutscher is with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in Bismark, North Dakota and says OSHA is in the beginning phases of investigating….

Deutscher says the North Dakota-based contractor Wanzek Construction seem to have a fairly clean safety record….

Wanzek is the contractor who constructed a 34 turbine project south of Wessington Springs and both the Buffalo Ridge one and two wind farm projects. Young declined further comment on the cause of the accident citing the ongoing investigation. The OSHA investigation could last up to 6 months.
