Severe Storms Bring Tornadoes, Hail and RAIN

A line of thunderstorm brought much needed rain to the area last night. However damaging hail and winds also accompanied the storms. A tornado was reported south of Redfield shortly after 5:30 PM. There have been no confirmed damage reports from that twister or a second tornado reported by a storm chaser just after six PM, three miles south of Conde, in Spink County. Outdoor warning sirens were sounded in Hitchcock, Huron and Cavour as a number of wind reports came in in excess of 75 miles an hour. One and three quarter inch hail was reported eight miles south southwest of Hitchcock at 6:30 and hail between an inch and inch and a quarter was reported in Huron. Mostly small branches were reported down in Huron. The storm also knocked down a small section of outfield fence at the Memorial Park Baseball field where the Teener Baseball Tournament is being held Point 4-7 inches of rain was picked up at the Performance Radio studios.
