State Fair Eyes 200,000 Visitors And Supporting Itself

Hertel did say despite the low attendance that the Outdoor Expo still did well financially for the Fairgrounds. Attendance for the Wheel Jam car and truck show was up from 10-thousand people last year to 16-thousand, 500 this year. State Fair attendance has been climbing in recent years and Hertel says the Fair has it’s eyes on a milestone number…

Hertel says the extra food vendors help play to the Fair’s theme of “Taste The Fun” Gold Star Amusements will return to the Midway with 35 rides on the Carnival Mat. The surplus funds accumulated by the State Fair will aid in funding much needed repairs. Work to the roof of the Hippodrome will commence at the State Fair’s conclusion. Other work includes sealing of the Grandstand and new Camper pedestals as camping is a significant source of revenue for the Fairgrounds for the multiple events that take place on the grounds.
