Ninth street will also be milled down to make it flatter and smoother. The drawback to the milling will be some manhole covers could be slightly above the road surface. City officials want motorists to be aware of the possible raised covers. Other projects beginning include the installation of new curbs and handicapped accessible sidewalk ramps in the area southof the State Fairgrounds. Water mains will be replaced on Wyoming from fifth to third and Illinois from 16th to Sunrise Drive. Manhole restoration will begin in July and work on two new water towers should begin by the end of the month.
