Macauley Pleads Guilty To Killing Brother

Eric Macauley is returned to the Beadle County Jail after pleading guitly to shooting his brother in March

The Huron man charged with shooting his brother in March has will plead guilty to Second Degree Manslaughter. Eric Macauley admitted to recklessly discharging a firearm on March 14th of this year, Macauley reached a plea deal with the Beadle County States Attorneys Office. As part of the plea deal, Macauley will be released from the Beadle County Jail on a personal recognasince bond, while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted by Beadle County Court Services. Circuit Judge Jon Erickson told Macauley he must stay away from drugs and alcohol and is not allowed in bars while released. Macauley told Erickson he has a job and will be living with his father. When asked by the Judge if he like jail Macauley answered quote “No, I did not” States Attorney Mike Moore requested Macauley be subject to random tests for alcohol. A sentencing date was not announced.
