Huron could see a string of new record maximum low temperatures the rest of the week. The National Weather Service is forecasting overnight low temperatures from Wednesday to next Monday that are two to 13 degrees above the records for warmest low temps for a day. Thursday is not expected to break a low temp record. Today could break a record high temp with a forecasted reading of 74. The record is 72. With the warm temps low humidities and gusty winds today. a Red Flag Warning is posted from Noon until 7 PM for areas west and southwest of Huron. The Red Flag Warning includes all of Hyde and Buffalo Counties. Most of Aurora and Hand Counties including the city of Miller and western Jerauld County.. Weather conditions in those areas could lead to explosive fire growth if a grass fire begins.
