All four City Commissioners expressed disapproval of the idea of closing a route that many Huron residents use to get to a large industrial park on the city’s northwest side. A five-member task force of has been established to examine the CP’s request. One possible solution would be to revive an idea to place a rail yard just outside of Huron, a plan pondered when the Power River Basin Coal Project was still under consideration. The CP has tentative plans to reestablish a superintendent station at Huron.
