One week remains for those who want to name Huron’s new water park, set to open in May of 2013. Huron Chamber Executive Director Peggy Woolridge says after one week of submissions over 220 names have been proposed through a website set up to take online nominations. That does not include a number of paper ballots being turned in at the Chamber Office, Huron Municipal Building and Park and Rec office. With Sioux Falls taking on a 115 million dollar event center and Mitchell mulling changes to the Corn Palace, Huron Mayor Dave McGirr says what Huron is doing with Central Park is being noticed…

The winner will be announced at a groundbreaking for Central Park on April 14th. The Grand Prize for the chosen name is an i-Pad 3, which was recently released by Apple Corporation. Every entry goes into a drawing for 50 dollars in gas or 50 dollars in Huron Bucks.
