The simulator system is approximately 75-thousand dollars but grant funding from the Department of Homeland Security obtained through the Beadle County Emergency Management office helped the Huron Police Department obtain the simulator. Officers Mark Johnson and Derek Layher spent time at the company’s Colorado headquarters becoming certified instructors on the unit. Aberdeen is the only other police department in South Dakota to have such a training simulator.  Video of News Director Zach Nelson trying the simulator is posed on the Performance Radio News Page on Facebook.
