(Webster)—A happy ending last night in the search for a missing woman from rural Waubay. Day County Sheriff Barry Hillestad says law enforcement was alerted by family members of the 65 year-old woman that she was missing, and was last seen driving her vehicle in Webster Thursday afternoon around 3 o’clock. Hillestad says the woman suffers from a medical condition that may have caused her to become confused and disoriented. The 9-1-1 dispatch center in Watertown was able to track the missing woman’s location through a cell phone signal, and determined she was in the Wolsey area. It turns out the woman had slid into the ditch and was picked up by another person and taken to a convenience store in Wolsey. She was reunited with her family last night. Hillestad has not released the woman’s name because of medical issues involved, and out of respect for her privacy.
