Dangerous Prison Inmate With Spink County Rape Convict To Be Released Today

A State Penitentiary inmate sentenced to 10 years in prison on a second degree rape conviction in Spink County is to be released by the Department of Corrections. Corrections Secretary Dennis Kaemingk says Ed Morris has a criminal history of engaging in aggressive acts of sexual perpetration of vulnerable individuals including children and the developmentally disabled, with little or no grooming or planning involved. Kaemingk says assessments done by the Corrections Department show he is a risk to offend again which is why he is notifying law enforcement and the public. Morris sentence expires today and the Department of Corrections is mandated to release him. Morris plans to live in Sioux Falls after his release.
