Van Berkum To Run For Re-Election To School Board

Another name is officially in the hat to run for two spots on the Huron School Board. Current Board member Tim Van Berkum has submitted his petition to become a candidate to attempt to retain his spot on the School Board Van Berkum says he is especially proud of the work the Board has put in to reconfigure the District’s attendance centers and consolidate services, while increasing efficient use of tax dollars In three years on the School Board Van Berkum has been the Board’s representative on the Associated School Board’s Legislative Action Network. Van Berkum is the vice-chairperson of the School Board. Van Berkum and Huron lawyer David Wheeler have made official announcements about running for a spot on the School Board. The other School Board member whose term expires this year is Steve Fryburger
