The Huron City Commission holds court tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. The Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments to consider two Conditional Use Permits. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider accepting bids for recycling scrap iron and white goods, sewer main lining and asphalt overlay, new paving and curb and gutter projects. The Commission will consider a home occupation permit request and get semi-annual updates from the Huron Chamber and South Dakota State Fair. Commissioners will consider renewing the walk-in hunting area access contract with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department and consider a special event alcohol license for a pool and dart tournament at the Crossroads. The first reading of a long-delayed ordinance on hobby farms is tonight along with the first reading of an ordinance regarding Bed and Breakfasts in certain residential zones. The Commission will consider the voluntary resignation of a police officer and authorize hiring a police officer off the the Civil Service call list for police officers. Announcements regarding the President’s day holiday next week will also be made. The Commission has two items in executive session.
