The Huron City Commission resumed their meeting Monday night after Hearing Examiner Rita Saugstad took comment on variances related to the Central Park Redevelopment project. Commissioners approved a change order for sewer main lining project and three plats. Those items would have to be moved if the road was ever to be finished through. A utility easement will be required in the future to get water and sewer connections from the front of the Wal-Mart and Runnings building to the southeast corner of Farm Credit Services new building at 33rd street. 33rd would be paved to the new buildings west parking lot for employees. The first reading was held on a re-zoning petition filed by Huron Regional Medical Center. Commissioners also approved a number of seasonal part-time Park and Rec Department employees and accepted John Hittle’s resignation from the Lake and Riverfront Development Committee. Doug Kludt was appointed to fill out Hittle’s term. Kludt resigned from the Historic Preservation Board and there is an open spot there.
