515,000 Dollar Grant Awarded For Huron Water Tower

Governor Dennis Daugaard has awarded Huron a 515-thousand dollar Community Development Block Grant for the construction of a water tower near the Dakota Provisions plant. The 500-thousand gallon tower will help provide consistent water pressure and supply for not only Dakota Provisions, but the DAPRO bi-products plant, set to begin construction this spring and other water users east of the James River The CDGB is a reimbursement program, meaning Huron will receive the funds after work on the tower is completed. The money comes from federal office of Housing and Urban Development and is administered through the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
