We took a look yesterday at 988 which is operated in South Dakota by the SD Helpline. 988 is the nationwide suicide and crisis life line. It is supplement with an additional three digit number which is an important source for local information. That Helpline number is 211. More today with Becky Schuster Vice president of program development for the Helpline, she talks about their focus on 211.
Schuster said 211’s involvement with local agencies give the Helpline more exposure and helps people with other aspects of their life.
One of the agencies helped by the 211 Helpline is the United Way Heartland Region. Jen Bragg with the United Way gives the 211 Helpline due credit for all they do.
