All 19 nursing homes and assisted living centers in South Dakota owned by Skyline Healthcare, including Arlington Care and Rehabilitation Center, Clark Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center, have been taken over to avert a nursing home crisis.
The facilities have been put in receivership. Governor Dennis Daugaard believes it will help avoid what could have been a very bad situation.
Reportedly, even the food and medical supplies at these centers were at risk.
Skyline also owned properties in Armour, Groton, Ipswich, Milbank, Mobridge, Pierre, Rapid City, Salem, and Watertown.
The State Department of Health is monitoring the situation.
