City Commission Meets Tonight

The Huron City Commission meets tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider two bid items including a change order and payment request on a manhole restoration project and payment request on a street milling and overlay project. A public hearing will be held on the Huron Chamber’s request for a special event alcohol license for the Chamber’s next Mixer at the Center For Independence on September 11th. The Commission will get semi-annual updates from the Huron Senior Center and South Dakota State Fair. Commissioners will consider the annual trailer court license renewals and will consider a professional services contract and letter of agreement for professional services between Northern State University and the Huron Community Campus for undergraduate classes. The Commission will also consider a hiring recommendation in the Solid Waste Department, approval of an architect contract will consider a request to enter into an agreement with DeltAlert for reverse 9-1-1 service. The Huron City Commission is scheduled to meet in executive session for Lititgation and hold a work session on the Cable TV Franchise Ordinance. The Huron City Commission is set to meet tonight at 5:30 PM. The meeting is open to the public
